Youthbeat is a music creation app for everyone who loves music and has ever tried to create a melody or a song.

Want to get ideas out that you’ve had in your head? Tired of your creativity being limited to remixing someone else’s ideas?

This app offers you the tools you need to create your own original ideas, and to develop your musical abilities as much as you want.

Imagine a DJ set up, where you spin two records, only here youre mixing and matching different beat patterns. You have a choice of two tempos and two drum kits, plus tons of cool fills to make it as personal to you as possible.

Once you’ve created your beats, tap the synth or rock page to add melodies and chords. When you tap a chord, the app shows you which notes in your melody are part of the chord. This simplifies the process of writing original melodies and lets you work by ear with no need for music theory.

Three sets of synths and three guitar sounds allow you to create any style of music you like, from rock to reggae, hip hop to house. And a cool blues page lets you explore the granddaddy of all today’s music.

When you’re done, you can add vocals or export to GarageBand or another music or video app using the new Files feature in iOS 11. You can also export your tracks via email and share them through our YouthBeat Slack group. Find collaborators and get feedback from peers on your tracks.
